My Story
I’m running the TCS London Marathon 2026 in support of Girlguiding UK!
From Rainbows to Brownies to Guides and beyond as an adult, Guiding has been a constant thread in my life. It’s where I learned to speak up, try new things and say “yes” to all of the adventures I was afforded through the organisation - be it weekends camping, a service project in Mexico or interrailing around Europe! It is where I, as well as many others, found a space to be challenged, be myself and gain invaluable life skills. Young women involved in guiding are up to 23% more confident than the UK girls’ national average!
Why does your donation matter?
London Marathon charity places come with a big fundraising target, so I am aiming high - and every penny helps! Your donation could help Girlguiding welcome more girls, support brilliant volunteers and open up new experiences and adventures for coming generations.
As someone who has benefited through guiding, running this iconic race is my chance to give back, help more girls join and challenge myself doing something I love.
I’ll share training updates (the good, the grim and the gels!) as I go. Every donation is truly appreciated and if donating isn’t possible just now, sharing this page is a huge help.
Race Day: 26th April 2026. Thank you for helping me turn miles into opportunities for girls in the UK 💙
About us
The London Marathon has become an annual, inspiring and colourful fixture in the world’s sporting calendar since the inaugural race on 29 March 1981: a celebration of fun, fundraising and fancy dress.
Over the years more than a million people have completed the 26.2-mile course – which runs from Blackheath to The Mall, with a spectacular finish in front of Buckingham Palace, showcasing the very best that the capital city has to offer.
What’s more, these participants have raised over a billion pounds for charity and there have been countless amazing tales of human achievement throughout the event’s history – living up to its aim of helping participants ‘to have fun, and provide some happiness and sense of achievement in a troubled world’.
