My Story

Running for Remy

Matt and I welcomed our beautiful son Remy into the world on 17 July 2022, he was everything we had ever dreamed of and we were so excited to take him home and start our new lives together.

Remy contracted a virus within his first few days and became sick very quickly, he passed away from sepsis on the 29 July and our entire world came crashing down.

The amazing team at St Mary's Paddington fought unbelievably hard to save our boy and we will never forget the incredible determination that they showed over the time we were there.

When the family liaison team stepped in to take care of us we were falling completely apart and felt beyond help, but the patience, kindness and empathy that were offered gave us something to cling on to.

Ever since then we have been looked after with wonderful counselling and I really believe that Sharon is the reason neither of us completely gave up in the first awful months.

The support offered by COSMIC has been life changing and I now hope to be able to repay a little of their kindness by taking on the London Marathon 2026. I truly wish that every parent who sadly experiences the devastating loss of a child could be given the same support that we have received.

So here we go... Remy, I am running for you my darling and I know you'll be with me every step of the way. Let's do this together ❤️🦋
