My Story
I’ve now completed the London Marathon 2026 — and I did it to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation, a charity that has played a life-changing role in my family’s journey.
When my son was just two years old, he was diagnosed with a serious heart condition and had to undergo open-heart surgery, followed by a second emergency operation. Thanks to the incredible medical teams, his life was saved.
Today, 17 years later, he’s 19 — healthy, active, and has just started university. We’ll always be deeply grateful.
That experience showed me how vital the work of charities like the British Heart Foundation is, supporting life-saving research, equipment, and care.
That’s why completing this marathon meant so much to me: it was my way of giving back.
After the incredible warmth and affection received throughout the race, I’m even more convinced that this is such a great cause and truly worth all the early mornings, long runs, and months of training — I would go through it all again without hesitation.
Donations are still open, and we’re now so close to the target — every contribution, no matter the size, really makes a difference.
Thank you so much for your support, whether in person on the day or through your generous donations.
