My Story
I'm running the London Marathon in April 2026 in memory of my mum, Rosie Curtis, to raise money for St Helena Hospice.
Many of you will know my mum, Rosie, from her 20+ years working with the DWP in Harlow and Clacton. She was deeply loved, and when she needed care, St Helena Hospice was there for her — and for us.
St Helena provided exceptional care to Mum across three separate visits. Their compassion, professionalism, and dedication made an immeasurable difference during the most difficult time of our lives. When Mum passed away, their support for our family was unwavering — nothing was ever too much trouble.
But hospice care is under threat. Funding is at an all-time low, and St Helena has had to withdraw 8 beds due to lack of resources. This is heartbreaking, especially knowing how vital their services are — not just in the hospice, but through their Hospice at Home and SinglePoint services, which offer 24/7 support, 365 days a year.
These services allowed Mum to stay comfortable and relaxed at home, surrounded by love. I can't overstate how much that meant to us.
If you can spare anything — no matter how small — I would be incredibly grateful. Every donation helps St Helena continue their life-changing work for families like mine.
Thank you for your support.
