My Story

Suicide is the leading cause of death in the UK in ages 5 – 34.  That is astonishing!

Be Free Campaign is an essential service providing an early intervention, preventative mental health support service for 11 – 25 year olds.

Mental health affects everyone and can get worse or get better.  We are perhaps more aware of the need to talk about these issues but for many young people, and especially for those affected by poverty and those in cultural minorities, help and support isn’t as accessible.

Be Free Campaign is a brilliant charity and one that is having real impact across our city and beyond.  I would like to raise in excess of £2,500 for this great charity.

I have completed many half marathons, but this will be my first full marathon and I am fully expecting this to be hard. Very hard.

I regularly run.  Usually, 5k stints on my own once or twice a week as I am able.  Less frequently I run further distances; 5 miles with Liverpool run club each month and I have run countless organised 10k events and about 20 half-marathons.  I have never run a full marathon and always held the view that a half marathon is probably the extent of my range.

I would of course, be very grateful for your support to help me with this challenge in helping Be Free Campaign continuing their great work in our city.

Thanks very much for reading this far and in anticipation of your support.  I will keep you posted of my progress.
