My Story
In January 2025 our family sadly lost my mother, Debbie, to Cancer. During her final weeks she was cared for by the brilliant team at Marie Curie in Penarth which is just outside Cardiff. The care, love and support received for mum was amazing to see and this marathon is a way of saying thank you.
In February 2024 I was also diagnosed with testicular cancer but it brought it closer to home that one day any of us may need the care of a hospice such as Marie Curie. Cancer touches so many lives so this run will remember those effected, still fighting or sadly no longer with us. It will also be a chance for me to honor the memory of mum who will hopefully give me a nudge over the line to complete 26.2 miles.
Please donate as little or as much as you can. I have included a little more information below. Thank you.
Every five minutes, someone dies without the end of life care they need.
Marie Curie wants to fix that, and so do I.
By being the official Charity of the Year for the 2026 TCS London Marathon, Marie Curie has a chance to give more people the best possible end of life care. And step, by step – #TeamMarieCurie are doing this together.
My race is on, I’m running to support the nurses, to reach that finish line.
Whatever the illness, Marie Curie is with you to the end.
