My Story

In April 2026, I’ll be swapping the school run for something a smidge longer - The London Marathon — all 26.2 miles of it — in support of LimbPower.

For those of you who don’t know me, I’m a 36-year-old mum of two and wife of one. My last big run was the Bristol Half Marathon in 2016, and since then, life (and laundry) have taken over. However, thanks to the glorious Spring of 2025, and possibly some sort of midlife crisis, I’ve been inspired to dust off my running shoes and chase down my pipedream of running a Marathon in my hometown, surrounded by cheering crowds, and adults seeking any excuse to don fancy dress.

Why LimbPower I hear you cry?  Well, LimbPower is an incredible organisation that seeks to empower amputees and individuals with limb impairments through sport, physical activity and art. They have made a huge difference in the life of my goddaughter Grace, a cheeky, bubbly and creative young lady, who was born with a rare condition called PFFD, which affects the femur. In Grace’s case, she was born with one shorter leg, which she affectionately calls her little leg. Through camps, and weekends away, LimbPower has helped Grace connect with other children facing similar challenges, giving her a sense of identity, confidence and community.

I’m raising funds because every child deserves to feel strong, seen, and celebrated.

Please join me in supporting LimbPower.
