My Story
Tom's Story
My amazing nephew Joshua was born in May 2016 and spent a lot of his life in Alder Hey Hospital. My brother Jay, his wife Michelle and daughter Amie live in Wales so it was a long way from home. Hotels can become costly, and some situations have an unknown time frame for potential recovery. This was the situation our family found themselves in. McHouse provided a much needed helping hand.
Ronald McDonald house was amazing at giving the much needed care our family needed. They provided accommodation, support, food and a home for that critical time. During this period our family received such love and support from a network of people within McHouse.
I’m confirmed (subject to fundraising target) to run London Marathon in 2026 with a team also supporting McHouse. Joshua would have been 10 next year and I can’t think of any better way to honour his memory, than helping families who need it the most. I’m over the moon to be given the opportunity to raise money for this amazing cause once again!
The money raised in previous years has meant families can live in comfort whilst caring for their sick children. It is essential fundraising like this is done to keep this going.
It really means a lot to my family. I'm grateful for any donations at all!
Wish me luck!
xx
