My Story
In 2013, my life took a proper turn when I was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer at just 16. During that time, the support I received from Young Lives vs Cancer, and my brilliant social worker, Jude, made all the difference. They helped me get through the darkest moments and provided the strength and stability I needed to get through my treatment. That experience taught me the true value of resilience and the power of a helping hand, and it’s a lesson that's stuck with me ever since.
Recently, I've been navigating some incredibly difficult and chaotic emotional challenges that made me feel like I was losing my way a bit. This past year has been a turbulent time, and for a while, I lost sight of the person I wanted to be. But through that tough patch, I found a renewed sense of purpose. I realised it was time to take back control of my life and channel all of my energy into a future I could be proud of, just as I did twelve years ago.
Now, I'm not just training for the London Marathon; I'm training for a new life. Every mile I run is a step toward my cracking goal of becoming a pilot, a journey that requires the same sheer determination, focus, and discipline I’m bringing to this race. I’m running to honour the young lad I once was, and to raise £2,500 for the charity that gave me hope. By getting the funds in for Young Lives vs Cancer, you are helping to ensure that another young person and their family get the vital support they need. Thank you for being a part of my journey.
