My Story

Running the London Marathon will be a massive challenge for me but only for one day, and I'll finish with a medal. Many people face far greater struggles every single day, with no finish line and no medal in sight.

In 2015 I lost a close colleague, Bruce, to suicide. His death was both shocking and deeply thought-provoking. Bruce was someone I had known for years capable, determined and full of life or so it seemed. Like many others struggling with mental illness, he suffered in silence and his death was a heartbreaking reminder that we often don't see the battles people are fighting. I wrote about this here: It's hard to talk about this.

I'm running to show others there is always hope and to raise money to help Samaritans be here, day and night, for anyone who’s struggling to cope.

Every step I take and pound we raise will help train more volunteers, answer more calls for help and, ultimately, save lives. I'm running to show millions of people that no matter what they’re facing, a Samaritan will face it with them.

We Believe in Tomorrow and together we can save lives.

Thank you 💜
