My Story

Why I’m Running the London Marathon for Arthur Rank Hospice Charity

I’ve been a runner for over 14 years, and like many, I’ve entered the London Marathon ballot countless times — always hoping, always missing out. As the years have gone by, I started to think maybe my chance had passed. But running this marathon has been a dream of mine since I was a child, and I wasn’t quite ready to give up on it.

This year, I decided to go all in — one last attempt, with full focus — and I’m thrilled to say I’ll finally be on that start line in 2026, running for a cause that means a great deal to me.

In my work as a Social Prescriber, I’ve seen first-hand the outstanding care and support that Arthur Rank Hospice Charity provides to people with serious illnesses and those needing end-of-life care. Their services are a lifeline to patients and families across Cambridgeshire — delivered with compassion, dignity, and respect, always free of charge.

Arthur Rank needs to raise £5.9 million this year alone to keep these vital services running, and I’m proud to be supporting them for my first ever charity run. Anyone who knows me knows that when I commit, I give it everything — heart, soul, and plenty of miles!

I’d be so grateful for any sponsorship you can give. I’ll also be running some events to help raise funds, so keep an eye out. Your support means the world.

Thank you.
