My Story

My story...

October 2022, unfit, underprepared and overweight I ran/walked my first London marathon. It took me 7 hours and 28 mins and despite the pain and discomfort i had the best day ever. It sparked my love for running and I joined the best running club in the world, Marsh Lane Harriers!

Over the next few years I trained and PB'd over every distance when I was offered a charity place for April 2025 Marathon. The training was super hard but I got to the start line hopeful for a 5 hour marathon. 10k in I fell, twisted my ankle and couldn't carry on. I can't even put into words how devastated I was, I still am now as I write this.

I felt like I had let myself and the charity down and all the people who sponsored me. London is one of the hardest marathons to get into so I thought my dream of a successful go at it was done.

Anyway, I was lucky to get a place for April 2026 and after a horrendous year with injuries and family issues going on I wasn't sure I was going to do it.

But here we are, third time lucky and this time it's personal, I want to cross that finish line with the time I know I am capable of and raise some extra funds for this amazing charity!

This incredible charity helps disabled children and young people participate in sports by providing them with the specialised equipment they need. Whether it's a sports wheelchair 🦼 or funding for training and competition, Get Kids Going! empowers these young athletes to achieve their dreams 👏🏻

Running the marathon is a huge challenge, and knowing that am making a difference in the lives of these amazing kids will keep me motivated every step of the way 💪. Your support will not only help me reach the finish line but will also give these children the opportunity to experience the joy that sport brings and realise their full potential 🌟.

Every contribution, big or small, will have a lasting impact. Together, we can make a real difference in these kids' lives! 🙌
