My Story

It all started back in March, when our world was turned upside down by my husband Tom having a grand mal seizure at home. After multiple scans, a brain tumour was revealed.

In April, Tom underwent a 10 hour surgery to remove the tumour, and a few weeks later the pathology came back as a grade 4 astrocytoma. He has since gone through 6 weeks of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and is now on chemotherapy for a year, alongside a clinical trial drug.

We are now both ambassadors for the Brain Tumour Research charity, hoping to raise vital funds for finding a cure in the future.

I was previously a professional rugby player, so running a marathon doesn't exactly go hand in hand with our body type, and it has never been something I've ever wanted to do. However Tom is desperate to do it -and I've already told him that through this journey I will be with him every step of the way- so here I am running it with him!
