My Story

I’m running the 2026 London Marathon to raise money for Samaritans, a charity very close to my heart.

Life can be incredibly difficult at times, and this last year has reminded me and my entire family how vital it is for people to never face these difficulties alone.

Samaritans provide a lifeline for people who need someone to talk to, day or night. Their volunteers offer compassion, patience, and a listening ear when it matters most.

Why Samaritans?
A couple of years ago, I had surgery on my knee - I've also never been much of a long distance runner! I'm challenging myself with this marathon to remind people that hope is always there, even when life is overwhelming. By raising funds, I want to help make sure Samaritans can continue to be there for anyone who needs someone to listen.

Every donation, no matter the size, can make a meaningful impact:

£44 could help keep the online chat service running for an hour.

£75 could help train and support three listening volunteers for a year.

£133 could help recruit and train a new volunteer to answer calls for help.

£200 could help Samaritans respond to twenty potentially life-saving calls from people struggling to cope.

With every mile I run and every pound raised, we’re helping Samaritans continue their vital work. I’m doing this to remind people that they are never alone; that there is always someone ready to listen, day or night 💚
