My Story

I am taking part in the TCS London Marathon 2026. I won a place in the ballot on my first time entering (much to my incredibly supportive partner's annoyance after trying to get in at least 15 years in a row!). This is my first - and probably last - marathon and although terrifying, I am looking forward to the challenge of completing such an iconic event.

As a ballot runner, there is no obligation to raise money but l have decided l would like to raise funds if possible in aid of East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH). EACH are an incredible charity supporting children and their families during the toughest of times. They rely on fundraising for the majority of their income; every pound raised will go towards helping families have the best possible quality of life and making every moment count for children and families.

The key services the hospice provides include: specialist nursing care, symptom management nursing, short breaks, wellbeing activities, therapies and counselling; all meeting the individual needs of the child, young person and whole family.

- £150 - Could pay for a Counsellor for the day to provide emotional support to help families cope during the more difficult times.

- £480 - Could pay for a Music Therapist to provide twenty, one-hour sessions, using music to help children and families express themselves and communicate.

- £600- Could pay for a Clinical Nurse specialist to provide 25 hours of expert care, tailored to each child and young person.

The supportive care EACH provides for babies, children, young people and their families is all-encompassing. If required, this life-long support includes specialist nursing, therapies and ongoing wellbeing care through all the ups and downs.

Thank you for your support, it is very much appreciated!
