Steel Warriors is a unique and innovative sport-for-good charity - the only one in the UK that melts down seized knives and transforms the steel into outdoor gyms. Through the sport of calisthenics, we support young people affected by crime, violence and social exclusion to develop the skills and confidence they need to build positive futures.
Our vision is to create a UK-wide network of gyms that empower young people to pursue their passions and achieve their goals, while building stronger, more connected, and compassionate communities.
We currently have four public outdoor gyms in london: Ruskin Park (Lambeth), Finsbury Park (Haringey), Langdon Park (Tower Hamlets), and Carpenters Estate (Newham), as well as one in HMP Brixton and a pop-up gym in the Sweatroom at Gymshark Regent Street. At these locations, our coach mentors offer free calisthenics classes to young people and the wider community.
We also deliver programmes in schools and youth settings, and provide pathways for young people interested in careers in the health and fitness industry.
