My Story
I'm raising money for The County Air Ambulance Trust HELP Appeal
Back in October '25, I was introduced to an inspiring lady called Lesley Obee. She works tirelessly raising funds for the HELP Appeal
Her story with this vital charity sadly began when her remarkable young son Tom, sustained severe injuries due to a road accident. He was airlifted to hospital by air ambulance which unfortunately had to land on a public road as there was no helipad at the hospital.
A crowd gathered and watched Tom being transitioned to the hospital, had there been a helipad this transition would have been both dignified and swift, for Tom, his family and medical team. Sadly, Tom's injuries were so severe the hospital staff were unable to save him.
From that day on, Lesley has poured her energies into raising funds for the HELP Appeal. She wants to ensure that no family has to face the same challenges as she did that day.
The HELP Appeal is the only charity in the country dedicated to funding helipads at NHS Hospitals. They receive no government or national lottery funding and rely solely on public support.
So, if you could donate, you would be honouring Tom's legacy and supporting future lives by enabling emergency care achieve that 'Golden Hour' making this care faster and more accessible.
