My Story
I have been applying for a ballot place in the London Marathon since I started my running journey in 2014.
The London Marathon has become an annual, inspiring and colourful fixture in the world’s sporting calendar since the inaugural race on 29 March 1981: a celebration of fun, fundraising and fancy dress.
Running has been a big part of my life that has created lifelong friendships and has enabled me to travel far and wide. It has helped me manage the high pressure and stress that comes along with working in the legal sector
During 2025, I lost my way with running after suffering a period of workplace stress and burnout, which meant running was placed on the back burner for the last year.
I am a Regional Contact for Cardiff Legal Runner, which is a social running group for the legal community and works in partnership with LawCare. It is through this link that I come across LawCare and its services.
LawCare helps to promote and support better mental health across the legal sector. LawCare's recent Impact Report 2025 shows that the charity supported more people within the legal community than any previous year, which illustrates that its free confidential emotional support, peer support and information for people working within the legal sector is vital.
I am excited to finally be running in the London Marathon on behalf of LawCare. It will be the perfect opportunity to give back to the service that helped me through a difficult time and give me motivation to lace up my trainers and join Mark Evans, President of the Law Society of England and Wales and founder of LegalRunner on the start line.
