My Story

I'm running the London Marathon for NAYC!

Anyone that knows me, knows I really dislike running and have always said I wouldn't run a marathon, however, I was bullied into it by some of my work team so now I have agreed to it I am all in to make sure I complete it and raise as much money as I can for such an amazing and important charity!

The London Marathon is something my Dad always wished he could have ran and watched it every year so it seems even more special that I am able to run for NAYC, a charity that Dad has had connections with through his church youth work over several decades and I too have been fortunate enough to have experienced both as a young person and leader in later years.

Since 1961, NAYC and ACUK have been creating opportunities for young people to grow in confidence, character and purpose with a shared mission to inspire and equip the next generation.

Through their youthwork, residential adventure, and leadership development, NAYC help young people discover their potential and step into it.

Please support this much needed charity for our young people and be as generous as you feel you can to push me over the finish line!

About the marathon:

The London Marathon has become an annual, inspiring and colourful fixture in the world’s sporting calendar since the inaugural race on 29 March 1981: a celebration of fun, fundraising and fancy dress.

Over the years more than a million people have completed the 26.2-mile course – which runs from Blackheath to The Mall, with a spectacular finish in front of Buckingham Palace, showcasing the very best that the capital city has to offer.

What’s more, these participants have raised over a billion pounds for charity and there have been countless amazing tales of human achievement throughout the event’s history – living up to its aim of helping participants ‘to have fun, and provide some happiness and sense of achievement in a troubled world’.
