My Story

Hi everyone, I'm running the London Marathon for a small mental health charity called Action on Postpartum Psychosis (APP).

Postpartum psychosis affects around 1,400 new mums in the UK each year, including my wife Briony when our daughter Ivy was born in 2023.

It was a horrible and scary thing to go through but with medication and other support, including from APP, Briony's condition is now stable.

APP's peer support services have been particularly helpful for Briony and me. The charity also facilitates research, raises awareness and campaigns for improved services.

As for my marathon training, I ran half the length a couple of years ago so am hoping I can go the full distance. I was drafted in this January so will be pounding the pavement hard over the next few months in preparation for the big day.

It's exciting and a bit terrifying to be taking part in such a huge event but I feel privileged to be raising money again for a great cause close to my heart.

Thanks for reading and I'm very grateful for any donations!
