My Story

Hello everyone!

Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.

I am extremely excited (and rather nervous...) to be given the opportunity to run the London Marathon 2026!! The London Marathon is something I have always dreamed of running, but I am very aware that it is going to be a huge challenge for me. Physically, mentally...and everything else in-between!!

I am so determined to prepare, train and finish the marathon...BUT the main reason, and my inspiration for doing this is to raise as much money as I can for an incredibly important charity - Ambitious about Autism.

I really hope that by supporting this charity I will be able to raise more awareness about the difficulties autistic children and young people face daily, including the challenges their family members and friends can experience too.

As a parent of a child with additional needs it can be a very lonely place at times. Not knowing where to turn, who to talk to, and trying to get the right support can be incredibly difficult. There have been too many occasions where I have spent evenings scrolling through the internet searching for answers at the end of a challenging day and I want to change this.

By opening up conversations and sharing our experiences I hope it might provide support to those who are facing similar challenges. For so many families, Autism isn't something that comes and goes, it's a part of their lives and whilst awareness is incredibly important; understanding, acceptance and kindness is what really matters.

Did you know that a suspected 1 in 100 people in the UK are autistic. Autistic children and young people face enormous challenges due to a lack of understanding of their needs. Early intervention and support are critical for autistic young people. With your support, Ambitious about Autism can raise awareness, challenge misrepresentations, and create a world where every autistic child and young person can be themselves and realise their ambitions.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story. With your support I really hope that I will be able to raise as much money and awareness for Ambitious about Autism…oh and complete the small task of running 26.2 miles too!!!
